"Adult O. marginatum were also collected by workers from the Marine Field Station (Rutgers University) during night trawling operations in Great Bay, New Jersey, and three females and seven males thus obtained were held under ambient light conditions in large circulating sea-water tanks with sand bottoms. Observations of courtship, sound production, and spawning were made in these tanks, and samples of fertilized eggs were collected from these individuals. Subsamples of eggs were held at ambient temperatures through hatching."
